Bouncing Brayer Technique

Ok I know many people have a Brayer and might not know what to do with it.

Supplies needed:
Kaleidacolor ink pad
Brayer with rubber attachment
Neutral Cardstock
Solid Stamps
8.5 x 5.5 piece of cardstock for the card base
Paper Trimmer
Additonal Cardstock
Embellishments of Choice

Step 1:
Push the palette of the Kalediacolor pad together and ink the brayer

Step 2:
Bounce (don’t roll) the brayer on neutral cardstock, making sure to keep one end of the brayer at the center of the cardstock. Continue to bounce brayer on cardstock while rotating cardstock with free hand. Re-ink brayer as needed.

Step 3:
Depending upon how much “white space” is desired, either stop here or keep bouncing brayer around cardstock adding ink. Here, no white space was wanted, so the cardstock was rotated and ink applied until all white space was filled with color.

Step 4:
Stamp focal images

Step 5:
Trim, embellish and finish card!

Stampin Up Promotion!

Never Before Seen Promotion

From August 11 through September 30, Stampin' Up! is providing never-before-seen savings on brand-new stamp sets: 15% off select new, die-cut stamp sets from the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog--no additional purchase necessary. Select items are listed in the table below:

Create Acrylic Stamp Sets from Stampin Up sets!

Yes thats right you can create Stampin Up's wood stamp sets into Acrylic set and it is so easy to do.

I know a few of my customers are not fans of SU's wood stamp sets because they have no room to house there sets. I do understand there feeling. I actually have similar issues and have a box of retired sets because I just do not have the room. Well I did some research and found a tutorial off of prairiepaperandink's blog. I have posted her photos here so you can see the tutorial and how easy it is. Also all NEW stamp sets from SU will be die cut, which means you do not need to cut the sets out of the rubber. One less step to do!

So look how easy this is:
1. You will pop your set out of the "die cut" rubber. If its an older set it will need to be cut first.
2. Once cut out peel the stamp off of the actual "rubber"

3.After pulling off the rubber you will now use EZ Mount at this time. EZ Mount is 2 sided, one side is sticky to mount your stamps on the other side is clingy to adhere to acrylic blocks.
4. You will attach your stamp set to the EZ Mount and then cut the stamp out! Then either save them in your box that comes with the set or save them in a binder the option is yours. Also keep those boxes that your sets come in they are great to hold your glitter and embossing powders.

To order EZ Mount: http://www.blockheadstamps.com/mounting.html

If you purchase $50.00 in SU merchandise from now till September 30th I will include one sheet of EZ Mount with your order (will be shipped seperatly to you)

Writing in the Sand/Dirt tutorial

This tutorial is for Photoshop Elements but can be done very similar in Photoshop itself.

Step 1: Open up photo that you would like to edit.
File>Open>Photo

Step 2: Choose Horizontal Type Tool, choose font, choose color and type where you want your writing to appear in the sand or dirt.

Step 3: Goto Effects>Bevels then choose pillow emboss and drop shadows.

Step 4: Go to the layers styles to change some of the dimensions of the writing.
Step 5: play with the settings you will play with them a few times to get them to look realistic. This is what I used.

Step 6: Change the Opacity

Step 7: Simplify Layer

Step 8: Now change the perspective of your layer

Step 9: Now you will play with the box to make it look as real as you can.
